Directions to Beacon House Bed and Breakfast

We are situated about 45 minutes North East of Whanagei city out on the east coast. We are located off Hailes Rd which connects Whananaki North and Whananaki South.

From Whangarei and the Bay of Islands

  1. From Whangarei Drive North on state highway one for 15K.
  2. Turn right onto Whananaki North Rd which is about 3ks past Hikurangi.
  3. Follow Whananaki North Rd for 17K
  4. Turn right onto Hailes Rd. (signed to Whananaki South) 
  5. Follow Hailes Rd (unsealed road) for 4K.
  6. Entrance to Beacon House Bed and Breakfast is on the left (218 Hailes Rd)
  7. Go through the Farm gate (please close it after you) and follow the farm track for 1K
  8. At the top of the hill with views of the sea, turn hard right and follow the track up to Beacon House on the ridge.

  From Tutakaka

  1. Take Whananaki South Rd (unsealed road) until you reach Hailes Rd on the left.
  2. Take Hailes Rd and follow for 2 Ks
  3. Entrance to Beacon House Bed and Breakfast is on the right (218 Hailes Rd)
  4. Go through the Farm gate (please close it after you) and follow the farm track for 1K
  5. At the top of the hill with views of sea, turn hard right and follow the track up to Beacon House on the ridge.
